Small Footprint Initiative - Markets, Exhibitions and Shows, Festivals and Celebrations, Performances The Small Footprint Initiative is an annual weekend event showcasing simple solutions for a sustainable and healthy lifestyle. It is held from the 12th - 14th September 2008 in Pacific Palms on the Mid-North Coast, just three hours drive north of Sydney. The event begins on Friday night with a sumptuous “slow food” and organic wine dinner set to the backdrop of local music and art.
On Saturday, there is a Sustainable Homes Tour, run in conjunction with National Solar House Day, featuring ground-breaking eco-homes and fabulous gardens. Participants in Friday and Saturday’s events each receive heavy duty cotton “Goody Bag” filled with magazines, information and freebies.
The Small Footprint Festival will be held on Sunday to celebrate our environment with market stalls, live music, and fun activities for kids and workshops. Everything from innovative energy ideas to natural therapies will be available and there are some great prizes to be won, including a 1Kw Grid Interactive Solar Kit worth $8100*. Pacific Palms is an area of unrivalled beauty sandwiched between some of Australia’s best beaches and a vast network of pristine lakes.
The Small Footprint Initiative is a Not for Profit organisation run by the Pacific Palms Community Association to encourage locals and visitors to be inspired by this stunning environment and live in a more sustainable manner.
