Why go there

Gerringong is also within easy reach of Sydney – less than a two-hour drive away – yet it might as well be another world.
History
Cleared by cedar cutters, Gerringong developed as a dairying village at the centre of rich pastures.
More recently it has become a holiday town, popular with those who prize its beaches, glorious surroundings and proximity to Sydney.

- Sample the wines at Crooked River Winery.
- Browse through the Gerringong Heritage Museum, which has some amazing scale models of the town.
- Have a picnic at Boat Harbour.
- Hit the surf at Werri Beach.

Events
- The Bob Churton Memorial Surf Spectacular Carnival, in January, features bands, beach barbecues, fishing, fashion parades, beach volleyball and an action-packed day in the surf.
- Gerringong Street Parade, Party & Concert, in December, is a day of fun in the sun, designed as a prelude to the Christmas celebrations.
